Kirchner Dental has a new all-star employee – Teddy Roosevelt!

Teddy Roosevelt is a four-year-old Mini Bernedoodle—a loving mix of Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle—bred by the highly respected Bluegrass Bernedoodles in Western Kentucky, a breeder known for producing exceptional therapy dogs.

Originally trained at Duffy’s in Southern Indiana, Teddy began his journey simply as a companion for Dr. Jennifer Wright and her family. With a calm temperament and eagerness to please, he was selected to help support Dr. Wright’s autistic son, who was initially fearful of dogs.

Teddy quickly proved to be not only gentle and intuitive, but also exceptionally trainable. In fact, it was his trainer at Duffy’s who first recognized Teddy’s potential for therapy work.

Since the age of 12 months, Teddy has been bringing comfort and calm to patients in the dental setting. He now serves part-time as a dental therapy dog at Kirchner Dental in Jeffersonville, greeting and comforting patients—especially those with dental anxiety—every Friday.

When he’s not at work, Teddy loves spending time with his family, going on car rides, cruising on the boat, and cheering on the U of L Cardinals at baseball games. Whether in the office or at play, Teddy is always ready to brighten someone’s day with his sweet nature and steady presence.
