Meet Dr. Michael Kirchner, a Dentist With a Passion For Learning

Dr. Michael Kirchner received his DDS degree from Indiana University, but his education didn’t end there. His extensive training includes:

  • A general practice residency through the University of Toledo
  • Study of sedation dentistry at the Division of Hospital Dentistry
  • Training at the internationally renowned Dawson Academy and Spear Education
  • Advanced sedation training from DOCS
  • Advanced denture training from Massad and the Geneva Dental Institute of Sacramento

Dr. Kirchner has a passion for staying up-to-date on the latest dental research and tools, so he routinely takes 10 times the amount of continuing education that’s required in Indiana. Courses he has completed include:

  • Anesthesia
  • Prosthetics
  • Aesthetic Dentistry
  • CAD/CAM
  • Occlusion
  • TMD and Facial Pain

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Kirchner still enjoys Orioles baseball games, despite their performance over the years. After seeing the movie “Hoosiers,” he decided to come to Indiana University for dental school.

Dr. Kirchner resides in New Albany with his wife and two sons. They are active members of their church and also enjoy camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors.
