I first got interested in dentistry when I was a kid like six or seven years old. I just had a new dentist at the time and he was just very outgoing super cool guy. Awesome to talk to, all the patients seem to love him, super involved in the community. And as a kid, I was pretty involved in the community through church. He was very big into that as well. And so we just kind of found mutual ground there. And at that point, I just decided dentistry is for me.
I kind of fell in love with different aspects of dentistry as I started shadowing in high school and in college, went on several mission trips overseas to Mexico, Jamaica. Provided some much-needed services down there. I still love the community aspect of it, getting to talk to people every day. And you know, now I really enjoy the problem-solving aspect of it. Whether they just wanna be able to chew again, they want a nice big smile, they come in in pain and you know, I just love being able to provide a direct service to help them accomplish what they want.
Meet Dr. Hamrick Elroy, a Thorough & Honest Dentist
Dr. Hamrick Elroy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia College & State University and then received a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He then completed an advanced education in general dentistry residency at the Veteran Affairs Hospital in Fayetteville, NC.
Dr. Elroy wanted to become a dentist since he was 8 years old, thanks to his unique opportunity to shadow several dentists at a young age. He witnessed their genuine enjoyment of interacting with patients. As a result, he fell in love with those traits and the professional as a whole. He was motivated to become a dentist due to the opportunity to work with his hands, help the community, and practice a specific type of medicine.
Dr. Elroy’s patients love his thoroughness, honesty, and ability to communicate. Patient trust and standard of care are of paramount importance to him. He loves interacting with people in the community, practicing a diversity of procedures, and learning about his growing profession through various continuing education courses. He looks forward to advancing his skills in more complex procedures and is excited about his life in the field of dentistry.
In his spare time, Dr. Elroy enjoys anything outdoors, including hiking, hunting, running, and exercising in general. He also likes checking out local breweries as well as exploring different cities and countries.
