Early this month, I wrote a blog about how you can repair your smile in 2017. Today I want to write about how you can repair your oral health. At Kirchner Dental, we have modern ways to repair your smile and your overall health. Great dentistry can improve your life, your confidence, and your health.
Here is my list of a few ways you can restore your health this year. Our office works with patients of all ages and has a variety of treatment options depending on your needs.
- Restore the health of your gums. Recent research from dental organizations across the country show that about 50 percent of Americans will struggle with gum disease in their life. Gum disease is no small matter. It’s the leading cause of tooth loss in adults and can quickly take over the mouth. Gum disease can strike with little or no warning. The infection can attack the gums and bones and cause these tissues to recede. If the infection erodes the bone enough, the teeth can start to fail. That’s a road you don’t want to go down. That’s why at Kirchner Dental, we offer reliable gum disease treatment that is noninvasive. Scaling and root planing is the process of removing tartar and plaque buildup from beneath the gums. This special treatment helps us isolate gum disease.
- Fix crooked teeth with Invisalign. Crooked teeth are both a cosmetic dental problems and oral health problem. Having crooked teeth makes it harder to clean your teeth. If you’re an adult, you probably don’t want to spend two years or longer wearing metal braces. Metal braces are an eyesore and can be uncomfortable. The good news is that you don’t have to suffer with metal braces. Invisalign is a tool that moves teeth gradually with clear aligners. Our adults love Invisalign because it is subtle and works great. Invisalign takes about 12 to 18 months to complete. There are many cases in which people have completed their Invisalign without any ever knowing they were having orthodontic work done.
- Tackle your dental anxiety. Dental fear is big concern in dentistry. It’s estimated that about 20 percent of Americans struggle with dental fear. Dental fear can keep patients away from the dental office, which increases the risk of developing serious dental issues. At Kirchner Dental, we have taken measures to assure that you’re getting the care you need, which includes offering sedation methods. We provide nitrous oxide, which is better known as laughing gas, and oral conscious sedation, which is a pill that will help you relax in the dental chair. Many of our patients under oral conscious sedation fall asleep in the chair. This gives us the opportunity to complete your dental treatments, while you’ll have little to no memory of the visit. In addition to sedation, we have The Wand, a special tool that allows us to administer local anesthesia with no pain.
- Repair damaged teeth with same-day crowns. Maintaining a healthy mouth means keeping your teeth and gums healthy. To give our patients great oral health, we sometimes need to repair their teeth with fillings or even crowns. Dental crowns cap the healthy took to keep it functional for years. We place crowns for teeth with large fillings, breaks, or cracks. We even use dental crowns following root canal therapy. To improve the process, our office has same-day crown technology. Using a system known as CEREC, we can prepare the tooth and place the permanent crown in one day. CEREC eliminates the need for a goopy impression, and best of all, you don’t have to wear a temporary crown while your permanent restoration is being design. The entire visit should take only about 90 minutes.
There you have it: four quick ways to improve your oral health this year. Our office is here to accommodate your dental needs. today to schedule your in-depth consultation.
